Great birding can be had along this western slice of Britain that overlooks the Irish Sea, which features mountain peaks, moors, pine forests, ancient oak woodlands, wide glaciated valleys, sandy beaches and seabird-encrusted cliffs.
Finally, a week after returning from The Biggest Week in American Birding, I am able to sit down and recount the event without developing a lump in my throat. The event was a deeply emotional and satisfying experience for me on so many levels; let me try to explain why.
