Israel: Eilat Birding Festival

Editor’s Note: I attended the 6th Annual Eilat Birding Festival in 2012. This was a mind-blowing exploration of the birds and scenery of Israel, shrouded in profound cultural history, and I was impressed with the professionalism of the Israel Ornithological Center guides. That 2012 season is considered to be the biggest migration season in recent years.

Eilat FestivalOrganized by the Israel Ornithological Center of the SPNI, the Eilat spring migration festival brings together birders from the world over for an unforgettable week during the peak of spring migration in southern Israel. Visitors are free to choose from several free guided daily tours to the best sites and enjoy an interesting evening program of lectures and presentations every evening.
